Rainy Engagement Session in downtown Cleveland- Sarah & AJ

Scheduling sessions in Cleveland can be a very challenging task. The weather more often than not is not on our side, especially this time of year. It’s been raining now for weeks and it was also raining a lot the day of Sarah and AJ’s engagement shoot. And by a lot of rain I mean a storm lots. I talked to Sarah that morning and she explained that she had her trial make up done and scheduled the session for that date on purpose. And she also mentioned that she didn’t mind the rain and that she wanted to go ahead with the session. That made me smile from ear to ear! How could I miss out on an opportunity to do a session under the rain? If I have photographed your session or wedding then you know that if your game, I’m game. Night, day, cold, hot, rain or snow! I love the challenge that it brings to the table. How do I use the elements that are often judged by their inconvenience to my advantage? Rain can be very romantic, I mean, have you seen The Notebook? At the beginning of the session the rain held off a bit on and off. We started at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, then to the flats, then went for ice cream at Mitchell’s in Ohio City, and finally to the Playhouse Square area. I’ve been urging to shoot at the square ever since they remodeled and added that enormous, breathtaking chandelier going over Euclid ave. Definitely a place to visit if you are new or old to the area. By the time we made it to Playhouse Square it was pouring and our phones kept beeping from the weather advisories. We had so much fun getting soaked! The result was spectacular and I’m so excited to share some images.
