Wedding at 700 Beta, Chelsea & Ian

This particular wedding adventure I feel that really tested my photography skills. Probably the hottest day for me this year, I mean, it was stupid hot. We also had a huge wedding party, twenty two including the bride and groom. Also to throw in the mix the groom wanted 007, James Bond style photos because really, how often do you get to suit up in a tuxedo. Taking challenges and finding solutions is a major part of being a wedding photographer. So, challenge accepted!! The day was a total blast, everyone was amazing to work with.

For the 007 style image I really wanted to recreate the iconic “looking thru the gun barrel photo” that appears at the beginning of every James Bond movie. I wanted to do this without the use of post production, aka, photoshop. Obviously I couldn’t take the picture looking thru a gun barrel, I came up with the idea of putting a cardboard cylinder from a paper towel roll in front of my 50mm lens. We hung white table cloths behind him to get a white background. It was taken outside under a tent. Problem solved! Probably one of the coolest groom portrait that I have ever taken. Also had a chance to play with some new equipment. Fun!

The reception took place at 700 Beta and it was phenomenal. Check out the cake topper, Chelsea and Ian have different political views and decided to incorporate that.I also love the wedding favors, personalized beer.

These two are amazing and I wish them the best. Here are some images from Chelsea and Ian’s wedding day.
