Middleburg Hts. Engagement Session, Kristen & Nate

Typically by the time I shoot an Engagement Session the couple has already met me and booked my services for the wedding date. When Kristen first contact me she was only enquiring about the engagement session.  And of course I wanted to do the session, engagement sessions are my favorite. She later showed interest to have  me photograph her wedding next year after they picked a date. So the first meeting with me was spent in front of my camera. I loved it! I mean, what better way to get to know each other. And let me tell you, we had a blast. Oh, and I’ll be shooting the wedding next year! 😉

The session took place at a metropark in the Middleburg hts area. I can’t never remember the name! It was the one next to the Polaris Career Center parking lot. It’s the second time I come to this place for a session. It was a bit cloudy but no rain, thankfully Cleveland weather gives me a break once in a while. This type of weather is ideal for portraits, the cloudy sky acts like a big soft box and softens shadows. I also brought along my 35mm film camera and shot a roll of New Kodak Portra 160 35mm film. Those shots will be posted at a later date with a brief review of the film stock used. No particular reason to shoot some film. I enjoy both digital and film for what they do. One thing I love about shooting film is the anticipation to get your images back from the lab. It’s kinda like a mystery.

Speaking of mystery, this session took place Friday the 13th. The last portrait on this post was inspired by it. Enjoy!

Congratulations to Nate and Kristen on the Engagement!
