In a blink of an eye- Laura’s Senior Session

It really feels like yesterday. I was 15 years old at the time working at McDonalds on Clark Ave in Cleveland. My stepfather David, rushed through the drive thru window and with his South African accent said ” we have to go, your mother is in labor! “. It was a day I will never forget. I never thought I would become a big brother at the age of 15, my mother was in her 40s at the time! My mother wanted me to be there in the delivery room to witness the birth of my sister. In retrospect what was hours really just felt like minutes. I was nervous, my heart pounding, the only thing that could calm my nerves and still does till this day was a camera in front of my face. Once my eye looks through that viewfinder I feel fearless, invincible. And then for the very first time in my life, I witnessed a birth, the beginning of life. My sister Laura was born. It truly is unbelievable that here I am, at 33 years old writing and posting of my sisters Senior photos. This Saturday we celebrate her graduation, the start of a new beginning. She is an amazing young woman, so proud of her. I’m sure someday I’ll be writing and sharing images from her wedding day, but please not too soon.
